Federal Pre-Retirement Seminars

Federal Career Experts offers a wide variety of off-the-shelf pre-retirement seminars, and is willing to customize any of our seminars for any agency, based on their needs. Click on each title for a detailed overview of each seminar.

Two-Day CSRS or FERS Seminar for CSRS Offset employees would attend the CSRS seminars and FERS transferees would attend the FERS seminars.  This is our most in-depth offering.

Two-Day Combination CSRS and FERS Seminars are ideal for small agencies, or for those looking to economize.

One-Day CSRS or FERS Seminars cover the most important parts of federal retirement, Social Security and the TSP in sufficient depth (though not as deep as a two-day seminar) and do not cover non-federal financial planning.

One or Two-Day Mid-Career Planning Seminars are designed for FERS employees further away from retirement.  The areas covered are similar to those covered in the one and two-day pre-retirement seminars, but the emphasis is on longer-term planning.

One or One-Half Day New Employee Planning Seminars focus on long-term (20 plus) year planning and discuss the role of other federal benefits (e.g., FEGLI, FEHB, Leave, etc.) in long-term financial security.

We offer a wide variety of classroom materials with our seminars.  Some of them are listed in the “Publications” section of this website.

Federal Career Experts’ instructors are experts in special category retirement (especially law enforcement).  In addition, none of our instructors are “financial advisers.”  FCE will not attempt to sell financial products to participants, neither will we offer participants a “one-hour free consultation,” the purpose of which is to sell them specific financial products.  Our seminars are totally educational in nature.

All of the above seminars will satisfy the requirements set out by OPM for “Retirement Financial Education Plans”, as outlined in BAL 11-104, issued on March 25, 2011.  As FCE is a small business, choosing us to deliver your seminars also assists your agency in meeting its small business contracting goals.
