Retirement Planning Seminars for Federal Agencies
FCE offers varying lengths of federal pre-retirement seminars for different audiences. Seminars can be from one to three days in length and can be for the following groups:

Mixed CSRS and FERS pre-retirement

CSRS pre-retirement
-
FERS pre-retirement
-
FERS mid-career retirement
-
Special category employees (e.g., law enforcement, firefighters, etc.) either CSRS, FERS or mixed

Early career benefit/retirement seminars
Special discount for early and mid career retirement seminars. In response to the concerns voiced by the Office of Personnel Management that employees are not receiving enough retirement and financial planning information early in their careers, Federal Career Experts is reducing the cost of early and mid career retirement seminars. For the remainder of fiscal year 2008, FCE is offering a discount of $250 per day of instruction on all early and mid career retirement seminars.
Career Planning and Career Transition Assistance for Federal Government Agencies
Within the areas of Career Planning (for employees staying within an agency or the government) and Career Transition (for employees leaving an agency or the government due to restructuring, RIFs, etc.) FCE offers services at many levels:

FCE can design agency specific career development or transition seminars of varying lengths, depending on the needs of the agency. We can also use off the shelf materials for basic outplacement topics.

John Grobe, President of Federal Career Experts
Our President, John Grobe is a retired federal employee with over 25
years of experience in federal human resources. He has designed
and managed career centers for federal agencies and is the contributing
editor of the FEDweek books The Federal Employees Career Transition
Handbook and The Complete Guide to Writing a Federal Resume.
In addition, John provides outplacement services to private sector employees
as an adjunct consultant with one of the big three private sector outplacement
firms. John managed the retirement program in a 3,500-employee office of a large federal agency for many years. Since his retirement from federal service, he has designed pre-retirement seminars for clients and has delivered hundreds of pre-retirement seminars. He is the author of Understanding the Federal Retirement Systems (published by FPMI) and a frequent contributer on retirement and career issues to the fedsmith newsletter.
